solutions

 *

Real long-term solutions are the enemy of the media; news, comedy, editorial, consumer, election noise and State propaganda. The significant problem for the media is a successful solution. Perpetuating the bloviating for advertising revenue is reduced when real solutions are enacted.

Let's hypothesize that; through some mysterious incantation, the US Federal Government actually enacts a simple (respecting the Tenth Amendment) law solving US energy needs for the following one-hundred years. Pretending that legislation lowered the US foreign trade balance, that action would remove many of the topics for media debate. If several such issues were resolved, much less air-time could be sold by the talking-heads.

PC lame-stream media prevents solutions by spinning the reported information. The pretense of objectivity has been removed for those capable of independent thought. Numerous publications have presented that conclusion with evidence about liberal media, no such credible information is offered about the conservative media.

There is an shrinking audience for PC spun news. TV advertising, exemplified by purchasers of auto insurance from a lizard with an accent, using a totally unrelated too tall football player and a fiddler as examples of their value. Are they the same people – we suspect they are.

Conservative media is an improvement over PC because, they at least attempt to include the truth. The “fair and balanced” promotion creates (intentional or not) confusion. The effect is likely market-share expansion by attracting “independents”. Including some PC nonsense waters-down the discussion. However, don't remove the obligatory, and identified left-wing, liberal (Colmes replacement Juan Williams) for the counter points, no matter how irritating they may be.

Research (paraphrasing Leonard Mlodinow) shows that people have shared illusions and draw erroneous conclusions based on their expectations. Injecting PC nonsense provides entertainment for the astute, however, others are not capable of discerning the relevant evidence and drawing a valid conclusion.

Liberal cool-aid drinkers' (elites know better) heads are filled with incorrect “facts”, for example; Senator Kerry is intelligent versus Bush is an idiot. The truth is, Kerry's college grade point average was lower than Bush's. Liberals revere higher education as the standard for “smart” and denigrate the opinion of those without a degree. Liberal media attract those truly challenged by repeating, in an entertaining fashion, irrelevant or misleading trivia.

The truth is simple and easily summarized. Liberal talking-points are complicated because false information needs a lot of spinning to even be marginally intelligible. If you are defending a bogus argument made to fit the agenda of some liberal institutional model you must be exceptionally quick with BS responses to logical questions.

Repetitive presentations of programs with conflicting goals is counter productive to produce macro-solutions. The US will NEVER reduce “poverty” (goal A) while continuing to import uneducated poor people (goal B) illegally crossing the border.

During The Great Depression, President Herbert Hoover ordered the deportation of ALL illegal aliens in order to make jobs available to American citizens that desperately needed work.. Harry Truman deported over two million Illegal's after WWII to create jobs for returning veterans. President Dwight Eisenhower deported 13 million Mexican Nationals; that was done so WWII and Korean Veterans would have a better chance at jobs.

As a gesture of good-will, President Ronald Reagan signed the amnesty law, however, the enforcement portion of that statute were NOT enforced. Liberals enjoyed the increase of poor voters into their registration roles. Cheap labor was used by business, liberal and conservative, to their advantage.

If you are forwarding an argument bases on historical truth and verifiable empirical evidence, numerous lectures (Socrates … etc) and entire texts are available that explain the process. Those same educational experiences debunk the charlatans' MO generally and modern PC spin.

TV “opposition industry” (Aug 2008 blog) Vietnam anti-war, and other 1960s anti-American tradition, movements emboldened others; SDS / Bill Ayers, ACLU, Rainbow/Push by Jackson … etc. non-profits ($350K pay plus expenses) revenue semantics.

constant disrespect

 *

Check the contemporaneous file videos; everyone said, Saddam Hussein had WMD (around the world anyone significant enough to be in the news agreed).

Some US citizens are more tolerant; accepting (some few enjoying) extreme violence on others. The UN should not be abandoned, however, that institution has proven impotent. Do you believe; if the US relinquishes the number one military power position:

#1 No other Country will ever fill that void.

#2 A benevolent dictator will take the lead.

#3 There is no three.

What would detractors of the Iraq war have said if, three years after 9/11, had no invasion taken place, a nuke traced to Saddam's efforts (maybe he just paid for a Russian bomb) had detonated on a ship in a US port? Those vary same Bush-bashers (he made many mistakes) would have called for his impeachment; quoting “everyone knew”.

Retired General Colin Powell (RINO) “doctrine”, he effectively prosecuted in the Kuwait war is; assemble an overwhelming force in advance, blitzkrieg the enemy territory, and withdraw. Iraq “Shock and Awe”; so far so good. However in Iraq, the US Ambassador thwarted the withdrawal. Maybe HE just wanted to replace Saddam for a few years.

I told friends (and others) at the time of the US invasion, muster (military for assemble) all Iraqi troops. Communicating in advance; the service of those who cooperate will be affirmed, however, those who do not show would be captured and imprisoned. Officers Coronal and higher would be retired (under supervision) with pay and all lower ranking officers and enlisted personal would continue their service under “coalition” senior officers.

Monetary rewards (as eventually instituted) could then be offered to obtain US desired results. Some previous Iraqi military (and civilian) personnel, in the reconstituted government will not be acceptable; arrest and treat them as traitors.

In Afghanistan, eight years ago after the original invasion, simply purchase the poppies directly from the farmers. Then destroy the entire crop there, in a plant constructed to accomplish the disposal. The expense would have been far less than the amount expended. Creating a time period in which an alternate crop could be developed; even a subsidized market would have cost less.

Apropos, Iran nuke diplomatic melt-down during Carter's second term.

My distrust of our government started when (in 1968) running rivers in Vietnam, news papers described French ships in Haiphong harbor resupplying the “enemy” killing US. Later, why was Jane Fonda not tried as a traitor. Lack of action told more than all their words. Contrary to propaganda, and unchanged throughout history, we commoners are disrespected by the elites.

A Military “Flag” Officer (General & Admiral), identified by stars on their epaulet, is an accomplished politician, which means they are willing to compromise to get promoted. True, everyone compromises (previous institutionalized blog post), however, there is a matter of degree in principle forfeiture.

Allowing 300 women on a US “fighting” ship, during several months of deployment, crewed by 4,000 men is a compromise beyond PC stupid. Half the females return home (at additional expense) pregnant. The idiot argument is similar to revoking “don't ask don't tell”.

I have always (even though water-boarded) been proud of my service. Civilian pride in the military is fashionable NOW; unlike Vet abuse on college campuses during my experience in 1970-74.

Why reminisce about my contemporaneous plans above? I told you so is NOT hindsight. Overcoming the PC agenda is crucial so the US can learn and plan for the future; to save lives, reduce injuries and conserve finances.

bold recovery

 *

(Note: regular readers have advised new-comes to first read previous blog posts in chronological order, starting August 2008.)

Fifty years of our US experience proves; continued geographic sprawl is not the answer to good development. Population stabilization will allow the US middle-class to expand and thereby reduce the number of those in poverty. Upward mobility has been stymied by the liberal agenda (earlier blog).

Inner-city and rural structures improvement or replacement must supersede the historic focus on new land-use projects. Infrastructure and energy needs of existing developments must take precedent. Intrenched, and politically (left & right) corrupt, “redevelopment agency” tax-based operations should be minimized. The free-market, using private financing with profit, will function best.

In the past, relatively cheap labor has facilitated US expansions. Slavery and excess immigration for the first two hundred years, then for twenty years, forcing and enticing women into the formal employee market, finally for twenty years, encouraging illegals to enter or overstay their time in the Country has been public policy.

In recent years, Federal, State, and local taxes are intentionally used to subsidize the incremental cost for “poor” individuals' labor. Ironically, government taxes taking funds from the macro-economy reduces private investment funds for development of poor geographic areas. Individual sub-prime loans obviously didn't work; they triggered our disaster.

A large pool of “poor” people is no longer necessary to perform tedious back-breaking labor. The construction industry has demonstrated that; mechanization is available, or will rapidly be produced, to transform sweaty labors into equipment operators.

The current inventory of US residential shelter is sufficient to house all legal US residents. Actually, there is a five year supply of residences, at historic sales levels; at a fraction of the cost of new building. Vacant retail and commercial space is accumulating as the recession continues and companies close their doors.

Sustained and stable, reducing bobble-bust, economic growth is the goal. Elites financially raping the people periodically must be stopped through efficient, clear, and fair government regulation. Our Federal Government has traditionally used construction expansion/contraction, by manipulating interest rates, to control the US economy.

At the risk of being redundant; this time (2010) low interest rates and “stimulus” will not restart the building business because, there is a vary large inventory of existing residential, retail, and commercial property unoccupied and available. The construction industry is the second largest, behind only health care, segment of our economy, and typically used to grow/slow US financial activity.

Reviving our economy through unnatural US population growth only expands the market for China's junk exports. Additional people here is an antiquated answer; billions of new customers are already waiting all over the planet. Bold action is necessary for success.

The #1 domestic objective is to immediately proceed with Federal permitting of hundreds of NEW privately funded nuclear power plants, thereby employing millions of engineers and construction workers. One single design for each (GE … etc) provider, for use in any of the 50 states, with US Government approval to supersede all State and local agencies. Once the location is selected, the plant will be guarantied a sufficient window of operation to allow a minimum designated ROI.

Other domestic activity must include universal use of natural gas in automobiles. Building modernization and market driven green technology. Expand private education within the US for more world travelers. Create additional “Trade Schools” for US youngsters not college bound.

Domestic “clean manufacturing” can be successful and “Buy American” must be encouraged. The US can compete internationally (paraphrasing Peter Navarro) if China (and others) is persuaded to stop WTO violations and stop their aggressive mercantile policy toward the US.

Expanded foreign export of “third world” (Haiti for example) development with strict oversight and fraud enforcement. Create a community model, with foreign country sign-off including; eventual US private financing, design, management, independent US audit, however, using indigenous labor after training. Clean manufacturing will be the outcome.

We will start this program in Haiti, hire boots-on-the-ground US nation builders returning from Iraq, and use unemployed US construction workers for management and training of indigenous labor. The US will be making large expenditures in Haiti for a decade; why not use this unfortunate opportunity to create a new program for foreign development.

Implementation will be fought by the usual suspects; opposition industry (earlier blog) members, the now infamous “non-profit” ($350K pay plus expenses) saboteurs. Those perpetrating financial or social deterioration are domestic terrorists.

too smart

 *

The United States' Constitutional Republic formation intimidates those who want to believe they have a superior intellect to the “Founding Father”. The current PC academics are “opposition industry” (my 2008 blog) members who could simply draft a concise amendment (as provided for in the original document) to make the “progressive”changes they recommend, thereby proving their advanced brain power.

Those elite liberals, who say that the US Constitution is a “living” document, that must be interpreted to reflect the changed circumstances we now encounter, are disingenuous. They know that if they submitted an amendment that accurately stated their intentions they would be exposed as fascist.

Liberal elites pretend (they know better) that current public issues are new (hence News), never before encountered circumstances. They do this because, if that were true, then traditional answers can not be applied. The “solution” is easier to manipulate if the debate has no historical context, no tested point of reference. And the perpetually surprised AP has more “News” to report.

Government office holders take an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States. Yet, most don't comprehend, or just disrespect, that central document after they are installed. Why have a written plan if you then ignore it? Because their personal plans differ from the official plans inculcated in the Constitution they freely swore to uphold, hello!

Included within liberals' appeal to the unwashed masses, during their Obamacare sales pitch, we were told that the mandate to purchase auto insurance was the same as the requirement to acquire health insurance. Proof of their deception or stupidity; auto insurance is State law and Obamacare is Federal, duh!

Professional clowns like Al Franken must ignore the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution because they don't want any limits on the tyrannical controls elites place on the taxpayers. Pelosi was confused by a questioner on the Federal policy limitation question. The Supreme Court over the years has capitulated.

Ignoring the Constitutional subject of limited centralized national power has become the big lie. Citizens are discourage, elites imply that common people are not smart enough, to understand why plain language is distorted into something other than intended.

The founders had sage knowledge of historical government organizations and intentionally did NOT create a national democracy. They knew that throughout history “democracies” eventually deteriorated into chaos, with the associated violence, and consequently paved the way for a “strong-man” tyrannical traitor.

Extraordinary measures (equivalent to suspending the “Bill of Rights”) are accepted temporarily as necessary to overcome events declared counter-productive. Once initiated, that effort is prolonged indefinitely to provide cover for the tyrant to eliminate their detractors.

Issues are irrelevant – power is the incentive.

integrate TV & internet

 *

John Stossel FOX Business News (or other) host TV segment summarizing internet video guest panel debate of national issues. Public access, at a time convenient to the viewer, web-page to watch the entire sequence of events online, then comment by email.

Potential first series of events on overall US energy requirements, with Sarah Palin (major topic for her) on first guest panel.

Guest panel participants record (with duration limit), at a time and location of their choosing, their initial position. First TV segment; alert everyone to view all recordings online. Second TV segment; edited guest panel (gathered or remotely) debate. Continue TV segments; editing the entire process which will be available online.

Host manage focus on ONE specific stated topic at a time. Next topic NOT proceed until current issue is concluded. Best integration of TV with internet.

too complicated

*

Recently, I was accused, by an education institution employee, of hawking my book. She refused to acknowledge that her university employer hawks their services. She did agree that an education institution should be open to and present (books with) contrary opinions. I educated her that noble efforts, like Rutgers and my book, have a commercial component.

To most people, the noble / commercial connection may not have been considered before; the average person has many excuses. Citizens typically select, from lame-stream media coverage, the popular individual (groups) and accept their positions on current news topics. If the commoner speaks-up, they repeat the few talking-points they recall.

We have all (hopefully) known “teachers” (in or out of academia) who were exceptionally well versed in their hard-science specialty or vocation, who could explain an otherwise difficult subject in simple terms. Their combination of intelligence and memory of the facts allowed them to tailor their words to your knowledge and ability. Conversely, we remember instructors who repeated the text information, however, they lacked the ability to communicate the essence of the knowledge.

Why are there two separate definitions (plus synonyms) for intelligence and memory (rhetorical question)? Because, recall of information (true or false) is a different ability than synthesizing the available evidence. Reaching the best (not perfect) long-term reality tested solution to a specific written question requires complete and accurate observation plus an objective assessment.

TV talking-heads with advanced degrees who can recite, without notes, historical opinions and the latest research are often assumed to be smart. Most people defer because we are told to; not possessing special credentials disqualifies you. Promoting their own interests (like this blog of mine) will influence their comments. Keeping the disagreement going, as opposed to debating the issue to resolution, will enhance their stature and potentially their remuneration. Clarity may NOT be the goal!

The “bell-curve” distribution (statistics) of peoples ability tells us that 50% are, by definition, below “average.” Consequently, those liberal elites manipulating the system to their personal advantage focus on the people who are least capable of independent analysis of political issues. The number of years of school attendance is not an accurate predictor of such ability; we have met people “educated” beyond their “intelligence.”

I confess telling an attorney, myself interviewing as consultant for court case, that; “perpetrating deception is too complicated for me.” The attorney (not lawyer) had decided the legal approach prior to my review and expert evaluation of the situation. Some people are accomplished at testifying using erroneous “facts” and bogus conclusions; I am not. Others are clever enough to continuously cover one false comment with the next twist. I can help at trial to minimize the consequences of a clients poor behavior; based on the truth. My book examines that process.

The brutal conclusion is; for half the adult US population the questions are too complicated; and only a portion of the other half have done accurate research. Liberal gamers occupy positions in all three groups. The current elected conservative leadership vacuum, not providing an honest condensed agenda, has exacerbated the problem. In a democracy (spare me your pedantic correction), where 50% rules nationally, voter confusion creates the problem.

The reason the raw 2009 presidential election tally was within a few percentage points was; low turn-out of those Constitutionally illegible to vote. People not smart enough to appreciate the significance of elections, and make the small effort to participate, should not be encouraged to vote. An argument can be (and has been by others) made that ACORN (90% liberal voters) actually caused the worst result over the bad alternative.

The “opposition industry” (my 2008 blog) was expanded by conservative challengers (Rush … etc), thus, exposing liberals' further left positions. The opinion media expansion has created a paralysis by analysis for those incapable of separating out the truth. Therefore, decades elapse as we repeatedly mull the same questions. The financial success of this mess has inhibited the conservatives' original incentive for good solutions. There is much more broadcast time to fill, given all the new outlets, and a lot of advertising dollars to collect.

The US energy needs and the energy production industry are an example of, not simply the failure of government, but traitorous activity. Obstructionist “non-profit” ($350K pay plus expenses) organizations in cahoots with competitive industry lobbyists, and government employees have sabotaged US best interest. Elaboration on the energy subject is not necessary, making my point above, for those with the ability to be informed and to comprehend.

Another example of distraction (entertaining some) from honest public policy discourse, such as reducing the national debt, is the terrorist threat. PC killed at Fort Hood, further more, after the failed airplane bombing Christmas day (2009) the TV news reported (with training drawing) which seat the terrorist occupied and the rational for that seat selection; to maximize explosive affect. With a healthy economy and strong military the US will survive ANY terrorist attack. However, out-of-control spending resulting in national bankruptcy (earlier blog) will destroy the US middle-class.

institutionalized

*

The first (traditional) institutionalized class that comes to mind is, the jailed law-breakers. Career criminals, as youngsters, were not properly indoctrinated (most are mentally ill) into civilization, therefore, incarceration is necessary to segregate them from law-abiding citizens. A subset of this group are traitors and domestic terrorists; the military should deal with combatants outside US borders.

For the majority of citizens, institutional (beyond family) indoctrination commences in public school. Learning unquestioned obedience to anonymous authority comes more easily to some, creating a continuum of acceptance to government edicts and control. The old saying: “you must go along to get along” is not appreciated by all, nun-the-less most conform.

Who's approval are you chasing? Constant criticism of traditional American values by liberals (previous blog “opposition industry”) and their attitude: they know everyone else is stupid – confirms PC dogma. Failure to acknowledge the “big brother” intentions of elite liberals, despite centuries of empirical evidence, is stupid.

Most adults assimilate (resistance, although personally harmful, is not futile) because the herd mentality (Nietzsche) is human nature. That statement, although PC harsh, is not foreign to young people who have formally studied “sociology” or seasoned citizens who have witnessed the phenomenon. Individuals who repeat the common mantra, reinforcing false security, become popular.

The average adult, comfortable with personal affairs, does not take the effort to research, by consulting sources beyond the liberal lame-stream media, the current public issues. The US military secures the First Amendment opportunity for the “forth branch” of our government to function, however, the institutionalized media has sabotaged that awesome responsibility.

The balance (third group here) of the population are intuitive (not scholarly) libertarians who refused to be institutionalized with unquestioned allegiance to authority through public school indoctrination. Plus, those who study history and determine the truth. Rejecting typical boss BS, deceptive promotion MO, and social PC, hinders these independent persons from traditional success. This group includes the whistle-blowers, mavericks … contrary personalities.

Sinister (like evil charters from a “Harry Potter” book) neosocialist elites manipulate the masses through false information, spontaneously disseminated by the liberal media. Every generation, as President Ronald Reagan warned, must continue the fight against liberal elites assault on liberty. For decades, those of us speaking on this topic have been mocked and paid a price.

Representative Michele Bachmann (true patriot) speaking on the House floor: “Now we've moved into the realm of gangster government. We have gangster government when the Federal Government has …” 6/10/2009. You are not sure about the terminology, liberals have twisted semantics and perpetrated deception, regardless, unconstitutional Federal control of assets, by any name, is not acceptable.

NOT recognizing that over time the US has deteriorated into fascism (by whatever name), as detailed in the book “Construction Budget Management”, is the education challenge. The miss-treatment of government contractors (eventual Obamacare regardless of the actual words in the current legislation) is described, and the author predicts the eventual fascist out-come for all other industries.

Main distinction between genius and insanity - commercial success.

republican voter lament

*

Ten percent ( or any reasonable number you chose ) of the US adult population do not care to work and are content to live on hand-outs; so goes the typical republican voter lament. The unspoken supposed result of that lament is; that same small group of homeless and indigent are so well organized and effective that they have coerced the reciprocal ninety percent of voters to enact the “Welfare State.”

Obviously, liberals use every excuse to grow government, however, the majority of registered liberal voters have jobs – many in the blotted Federal, State, local, and quasi ( schools, utilities … etc )government agencies. The liberal religion ( collectivist devotion to government ) remains faithful to their failed 40 year “war on poverty” to continue using that farce as cover for their assault on liberty.

Business persons ( liberal and conservative ) receive the majority of funds ( taxes and debt obligation ) through government payouts. “Welfare” is typically not cash to the qualified, rather government expense is for facilities, supplies, services, employees … etc. The current Trillions in bailouts and stimulus are NOT going to the lower-class, those without good jobs. Many so called “private” companies depend on direct or tangential government contracts.

Elites use such illogical distractions ( lazy people control US ) to occupy the minds of republicans and provide them talking points during their high-five conversations with others so indoctrinated. More than complaining will be necessary next year ( 2010 ) if the course of the US is to be corrected.

Betrayal by our elected “representatives” has deteriorated into fascism.

liberal delusion

 *

Liberals’ complaint (not legitimate challenge) is not that the content of CBM (my book) is not true; their problem is that they don’t LIKE it. No one endorses an author who exposes their inability to honestly recognize reality; liberals’ dysfunctional refusal to accept that government does not have the correct solution for activity not authorized in the US Constitution.

The book has been validated by numerous industry professionals. Not one challenge has been made regarding CONSTRUCTION BUDGET MANAGEMENT’s (CBM) content. Don’t judge the book by its title. Unlike many books and articles that criticize blotted government with a broad brush; CBM takes the NEXT STEP and provides detailed solutions to specific problems.

Americans’ tolerate official court decisions, even when we don’t agree, because they are rare (minuscule percent of all decisions) and perceived to be even-handed (justice is blind). Also, if a court makes a mistake there is an appeal process.

One significant problem with government contracting is that administrative decisions become quasi-judicial, in that, public agencies “rules” are treated as law by agency administrators. Some contracting officials consider their opinion as law.

A few weeks ago, I met a (name and location on-file) retired Federal Government “Contract Specialist” (his description) who said he believes that; “all contractors are crooks.” That man said he had spent his career opposing unwarranted payment to private contractors. I pressed him, and he reiterated, “all contractors.” Our conversation became heated, so we shock hands and walked away.

Of course, I pointed out to him that there are millions of contractors that he had not met; however, he was not deterred from his position, “all contractors are crooks.” That attitude is common (PC liberals) among Federal, State, and local government employees. The state-media reinforces that belief to the general public.

One of the major topics within CBM debunks that myth. Obviously, “all” members of a group, especially one as large and diverse as contractors, are not identical. His prejudice is not unusual for a government employee. Liberal agencies personnel FEEL better, and that attitude allows them to be more aggressive, when dealing with the public.

CBM provides a philosophy of partnership, and practical “how-to” solutions on the administration of contracts, construction or otherwise. The stories in the book explain, with examples, why government must be restrained in size if possession of private property is to be protected.

In addition to many positive reviews of CBM by architects, engineers, contractors, facility owner representatives … etc.; one of my favorites was a dentist comment. He was an elected school board member, and he said, prior to reading CBM he abstained from active participation in building project discussions; after studying CBM he now leads those meetings.

CalPoly Pomona entertained accepting CBM as the author’s PhD thesis, until they determined that the author has too much testosterone for their program. K-12 school construction administrators go apoplectic, thereby confirming relevance.

CBM contends that, in public contracting (not only building) the selection process should be, following conservative principals, as objective as possible. Making the decision events transparent, and thereby minimize the temptation for abuse and corruption.

An on-line perusal of the CBM web-page, including book reviewers, will reveal that CBM is the best text to prepare people to manage public works projects. As an example, when the author was consulting for the University of California, he initiated a new project delay calculation into UC building contracts. That single suggestion has saved the UC system ten-of-millions of dollars over the past seventeen years.

Notes: People who actually know the author, and witnessed my experience over the years, have confirmed the auto-biographical content and my contributions.

Book reviewers, and additional industry professionals, have validated the technical content.

Elites are categorized and exposed specifically in my previous TownHall posts.

government medicine

 *

Baby-boomers (BBs) have betrayed younger citizens by perpetuating “Social Security” after that system was exposed (1970s) as a ponzi-scheme. As the unconscionable amount of Federal Government debt accumulates and failed social programs debilitate the economy, younger citizens will consider (unofficially) retaliation through the health care apparatus as justified.

After genX and Y individuals watch (most are oblivious now) as a larger and larger portion of their income is siphoned-off (paycheck with-holding of producers) and squandered on counter-productive unconstitutional social programs, not to mention waste and fraud, they will eventually want revenge.

Liberty lackadaisical BB seniors got their retirement based on the spoils of the Greatest Generation’s amazing post WWII economy. They felt they earned it, and they took it!

However, BBs failed to be vigilant (as the Founders warned) politically, they were too busy enjoying their benefits, and were distracted by the liberal opposition industry (my previous TownHall post). Thomas Jefferson encouraged the “wards” concept; what percentage of citizens has ever attended a City/County or School Board meeting?

“Take Two Aspirin and Call Me When Your Cancer is At Stage Four. All the problems with the American health care system come from government intervention, so naturally the Democrats' idea for fixing it is more government intervention.”  [Ann Coulter / TownHall.com - Thursday, July 23 2009]

Excuse me for being redundant, however, liberals try to make everything seem complicated. Clarity is the conservative ally. Over time, government NEVER does a better job (the military – I am a proud vet – costs allot) than an open market. Affective over-sight, imposing minimum controls, on private enterprise is the solution to health care (and other program) reform for citizens, on the individual State level.

Just a few thoughts:

One – tort reform (most doctors support) set maximum awards / category

Two – provide voucher for qualified “poor” to purchase private insurance

Three – mandate that approved health service providers make available a statute defined deductable emergency coverage for otherwise healthy adults; and separately for families

Four – KISS discussion

The US economy has surpassed “taxation saturation”, meaning; the equilibrium point between private sector production and government confiscation has been exceeded. Killing the goose (for dinner) that lays the golden eggs is counter-productive in the long-run. Entrepreneurial activity must be protected and encouraged so as to provide the tax base to fund government.

ancient treachery

*

A few days ago, I got a preview of the new civilian enforcement agency promised during the campaign. A brand new full-size (not hybrid) SUV, complete with custom paint-job and special roof-top lighting (estimated cost $50K), labeled “Home Land Security” was being driven from an automobile dealer in Oceanside. The driver was a large “minority” man.

The new “spread-the-wealth” policy may be resisted, therefore, a non-compliance service will be required. Local police and sheriffs are too connected to the community (as they should be) through locally elected officials to be affective in this unpopular effort.

As we know from current Supreme Court candidate hearings, and at least one administration appointment policy statement, sympathy with certain ethnic groups is preferred. Those with little formal education or work-place achievement should by employed in higher paid positions.

As reported as a constant drone in the state-media, many (citizens or not) are less than satisfied with their position (after 30 years + trillions of dollars) in the US of America. In their opinion, their status is the result of exploitation by elites; they are correct.

Recruiting the “disadvantaged” into a national (relocated geographically) department with higher pay will ensure obedience regardless of the constitutionality of the orders given. “Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely (or disingenuous) exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive.” / C. S. Lewis.

Betrayal by “representatives” dates back to pre-biblical times; documented by Greek philosophers and playwrights’. “Those who don’t study history are destined to repeat it (unknown).” Government power, as opposed to commercial power, is different because physical enforcement is by the fire-armed police; directed and protected by “the law.”

Liberals (Jimmy Carter and Congress) drove me out of business with 22% interest rates; again the liberals (Barney Frank … et al.) have driven me out of business. As a construction worker, we usually get hit first in a down-tern of the economy.

I predicted euphemistically (last year), we are going to experience Carter’s second term (he did 4 years); I was wrong. The current excesses in liberal borrowing will result in an extended “W” recession, being much worse than Carter. When the private-sector naturally tries to rebound, higher interest rates will drag business activity back down; government borrowing will crowd-out business from credit markets.

The best stimulus would have been (now - high debt may preclude this option) a Federal income tax holiday for one year. That action would have been immediate and needed no administration. Whatever individuals citizens did with THEIR money would jump-start the economy. This was not an option for liberals because; cool-aid drinkers would protest the end of the tax holiday.

The current non-sense being perpetrated on the public is NOT new. History, going back several thousand (not hundreds) of years, is replete with conicals of elites manipulating the people. Many divide and exploit “issues” are used (see the shinny object in my other hand) to distract the commoners. Government is inherently oppressive, therefore, controlling the size in paramount.

Our “representatives” have betrayed US, and the state-media is complicit. A prime example is the open southern border and dysfunctional anchor-baby policy. Iran has elections, to create the delusion that citizens (read you) have an influence.

To circumvent the minutiae, let’s ENFORCE a strict hiring FREEZE (Military exempt / expressly in Constitution) on the Federal government, including contract employees. Routine attrition will automatically reduce the size and cost; no person even need be terminated (poor dears’ feelings in tact). Excess facilities, as they are vacated, can be auctioned off to reduce the debt. Retraining (as they tell us) and paid relocation of existing personal can fill ANY “critical” positions.

In addition, REVERSE recent bail-outs and stimulus spending; the banking system being unique. Future proposed Federal spending on pork and pet projects MUST be made public (in writing) six months prior to the first vote in the House. The Congressional-persons can argue and campaign on how they will allocate the funds available.

Third, to deal with third-rail topics like Social Security, a large CPA firm is hired to audit (at macro-level) the Federal Reserve, unfunded liabilities, and ALL other conceivable DEBT of the Federal government. Then, much like the base closing program, that same FIRM makes up-or-down recommendations on how to actuarially manage the various obligations in a fiduciary responsible manor.

Eventually, during the recuperative period, we consider our options.

difficult argument

 *

Conservatives are disadvantaged in a disagreement with liberals, because the conservative (not RINO) is typically truthful and polite, the antithesis of liberal talking-points. As we have learned, bi-partisan means; the conservative caves.

State media (formally = lame-stream media) is manipulated by government officials by giving interview access to those who they know are in favor of the officials’ policy. “Real reporters”, known to be objective and therefore likely to ask a question difficult to put a positive spin on, are punished by exclusion.

Elite sociopath “representatives” speak (especially one with a little whistle) in riddles now days, about subjects which have not only been debated at infinitum, but also, experimentally proven over time. White men (supported by white women) built Western Civilization and they are now persona-non-grata in America.

Government over-sight and regulation has obviously failed. Worse yet, officials are complaisant in the melt-down. We have been betrayed; by the false sense that government rules, not impartially imposed, are capable of sustaining stable markets and consistently provide fiscal reliability. Minimum constitutional government is the answer.

Most adults with hungry children are EASY to control.

un-common since

*

“Common-sense” is NOT ubiquitous; not generic or the opinion of the average person. The natural meaning of a situation is anti-elite because the truth is not twisted to promote an agenda contrary to regular folks principals.

An old man (appearing to be alert) at an informal discussion group, at a coffee shop I occasionally patronize says; he was present personally during the last few years of Hitler’s rein in Germany. When I attempted to engage (May 2009) him in a conversation about current government controls on banking and commerce, he refused.

Liberals are not hypocrites. Their double-standard behavior, conservative versus liberal, has been established in fact by empirical evidence. However, you must have principals to be hypocritical.

Conservatives have learned to expect personal adhominem attacks from liberals. I value my detractors, many years were expended to cultivate my enemies and I don’t want to start over.

PC acolytes are hostile with those who disagree; because their dysfunctional destructive co-dependent relationship with sociopathic PC elites creates a break with reality, verifiable with factual empirical evidence.

Hereby coin new word: Neohyplib = new-hypocritical-liberal; is a progressive who exploits lame-stream media double standard to advance their elites’ destructive agenda.

sustainable enterprise

*

Is entrepreneurial capitalistic “free enterprise” sustainable? Or, has the (233 year) experiment in individual property rights come to a failed conclusion? Is the human race returning (evolving) to a natural state, in which everyone is subservient to the state, totalitarianism?

As quoted in the magazine, “Land Development Today” (January 2009 - page 14); “Many readers continue to have the same misunderstanding of sustainability that is held by the general public. Too many still equate the word “sustainable” with “environment”. Lingensjo’s response is; political and economic topics should be included when evaluating environmental issues. Much, much more is at stake than pristine air, clean water and soil erosion.

Citizens’ personal and real estate property ownership; including use, distribution control, compensation for transfer, and relief from confiscatory taxes, must be recaptured from an ever expanding government if modern civilization is to be sustained. Prosperity for a large (as percentage) middle-class must be present for liberty to function as we have experienced.

Maintaining private property rights (previously protected in the US Constitution) enhance sustained prosperity, which is a prerequisite for liberty. Australia, Canada, Indian Empire, New Zealand, Poland, South Africa, United Kingdom, and United States of America have been the engine for prosperity and consequently liberty around the globe. Due to its size, when USA gets sniffles others get pneumonia, the USA must survive and provide leadership.

Priorities must be considered for ANY real (as apposed to theoretical) world condition to be sustained. Without prosperity civilization will not have the excess (beyond food, shelter, and police) resources to pursue improvements in construction activity and results. History teaches us that collectivist economies do not provide the wealth necessary to sustain such activity.

I recall the concerted effort by my college (1970-74) professors’ to indoctrinate “corporate social responsibility” into business school students. Curious, nothing was mentioned about government responsibility; that only altruistic people were in government “service” was considered a given. “Big brother” has all the correct answers.

Over the intervening thirty years, liberals continually pontificated about the lack of ethics in the business sector, which has been highly controlled by taxes, and as government incessantly tampers by regulating every market and industry. Throughout history, and current events prove, that government has not acted ethically as well, in their supposed over-sight of the bad business people. FREE World, Republic founders perceived this situation.

Unbridled lazy-fare business activity in the USA ended, as it should have, one-hundred years ago. By the completion (1945) of President FDR’s terms, government (Supreme Court acquiescence) controls had expanded beyond Constitutional authority. However, PROOF that all elites were responsible for the 2008 failed government over-sight of the financial markets is that Representative Pelosi (fierce adversary in opposing party) immediately joined President Bush in the TARP bail-out response.

Lingensjo’s answer to the original question (above), “Is entrepreneurial capitalistic free enterprise sustainable?” Considering ever increasing government control of “private” markets, the response is, NO. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. With fear of police action and judicial punishment to enforce their desires, the answer is emphatic.

The book CONSTRUCTION BUDGET MANAGEMENT (author Independent Book Publishers Association member) is controversial because it exposes the inherent tyrannical nature of consolidated government power, and consequently the potential for misdeeds by government organizations. The author’s public works construction experience describes a microcosm of governments’ bureaucracy interface with private industry.

The book has been validated by numerous industry professionals. Not one challenge has been made regarding CONSTRUCTION BUDGET MANAGEMENT’s (CBM) content. Don’t limit the book by its title. Unlike many books and articles that criticize blotted government with a broad brush; CBM takes the NEXT STEP and provides detailed solutions to specific problems.

In addition to many positive reviews of CBM by architects, engineers, contractors, facility owner representatives … etc.; one of the favorites was a dentist’s comment. He was an elected school board member, and he said, prior to reading CBM he abstained from active participation in building project discussions; after studying CBM he then lead those meetings.

CBM contends that, in public contracting the selection process of “private” firms should be, following conservative principals, as objective as possible. Making the decision events transparent, and thereby minimize the temptation for abuse and corruption.

Most government organizations (thousands of local, State and Federal) have building programs. From the recent “Visitor Center” fiasco in Washington D.C. to university campus facilities, mis-management of public works construction projects is legendary. This topic is timely because, here we are on the threshold of spending hundreds-of-billions of dollars on the “stimulus” package.

The speaker’s platform is his book:

Construction Budget Management by Richard Lingensjo

seventeen-hundred are in the fulfillment warehouse ready to ship.

The author met, and spoke one-on-one, with Dean (Pepperdine Law School) Kenneth Starr last year during an event at the President Ronald Regan Library. Dean Starr accepted the CBM book given him and he said he would pass it along to someone in his Department. The author may be speaking there in August.

The author is scheduled to speak at the EduComm 2009 event in June and potentially at the iap2 seminar in September. Those presentations will be posing a public police ethical question (specifically CBM page #171). Should government be fair in their contracting with private companies?
